Waiting for Kalki

Waiting for Kalki

His body feathers along the python carrying earth.
marble face, eyelids locked; stage floats in head

jump off bed, check mirror, sip coffee;
newspaper pokes crimson skyline with drone parade

Sit at lighthouse. paintbrush bleaches
pebbles and sea-shells, eraser mops sea-weeds
worms feast books till dusk

Night seizes me on horseback;
downtown lanes hawk hippie rainbows: Aphrodite:

the processor blinks to mark radio waves.
            chatbot beeps for hairline cracks that bear
ash deaths by pastel moonlight

Insomniac pillow whispers: I'm the stargazer,
the composer, the wooden crucifix

He whistles from hammock
                      as two gypsy comets collide

broken timer crawls towards dustbin
